Fort Bragg

Last weekend I went to Fort Bragg with Jeff and my sister Stacy. It was cold and rainy but we had a great time. Fort Bragg is located 8 miles north of Mendocino which we visit as well (but, between you and me, I like Fort Bragg better - it's less polished and more edgy).

Fort Bragg has a glass beach that was completely amazing. It used to be a garbage dump from the 40's through the 60's but they cleaned it up and now all that's left are wave-polished pieces of glass.

(No, you're not imagining things, that's a crab.)

Fort Bragg has a cute, quirky downtown area with lots of great restaurants. Here is a shot of some of the store signs:

One of the coolest things in all of Fort Bragg is the Starr Community Center. They have a pool there with a current that they call the "Lazy River". Check it out:

Yep, waterslides and kayaking... that's the way a pool should be!

I'm off to make more mischief so have a great Memorial Day weekend!
